I just don't let go
So anyway, this post is going to be about the most precious things in life. Now,of course,my favourite people are my family,my boyfriend and my close friends, but materially speaking there are certain objects I can simply say I am addicted to.

Why I like Gwen
When dear old Gwen decided to go solo,I applauded her.Although many disapprove of her vocal talents,I personally like her voice. It sounds so beautiful live, especially in this particular video:
But this post is supposed to be about Gwen.So this is why i like her : her debut album was fantastic, and even though her second album sucked hard, she somehow found the strength to get through that failure gracefuly.Heads up,bb!
And another thing I admire her for, besides her gorgeus kids and hubby,is her sense of style. It's very down to earth and still, very sophisticated.Approachable but with a touch of class.

I think it's time to give it up,and figure out what's stopping us..
In order to achieve something, physically or emotionally, you must give something in return.I have just let go of something/someone very close to my heart, and all I hope is that I've made the right decision.Who knows?
[And no,I have not dumped my boyfriend,if that's what you assume.]
As I've said before, life goes on,with or without certain things. So here are some recent pictures of my newly discovered existence:

From my womb to my tomb...
1.Take out pictures of your favourite moments in life, like last year's summer vacation or that party when you danced your feet off,and stick them in a scrapbook.Write under each photo your thoughts regarding those moments,or even invite your friends to leave their impressions in your scrapbook.Soon you'll realise you do have things to smile about!Living in the past is hard to do,but it's a good way to get rid of your depression.

2.Reconnect with your childhood friends and find out what they have been up to.Meeting old people you used to share precious moments with might highlight your day :)

Cooking anyone?
I'm also a rather picky eater. For example,I eat only fish or chicken,do my best to avoid pork, potatoes&milkshakes ,eat a lot of vegetables and only certain fruits and am obsessed with calculating the calories.I know it might sound rather awkward, but ever since I;'ve adopted this style I've been feeling better than ever.So here are my favourite recipes:

SERVES: 4
TIME: 20 minutes
2 1/2 cups shredded cooked chicken (poached or roasted is good, incidentally this is great recipe for leftovers)
1 large stalk celery, cut into 1/4” dice
1/2 green apple, peeled and cut into 1/4” dice
1/3 cup toasted walnuts roughly chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 scallions, thinly sliced
2 handfuls arugula, roughly chopped
1/2 cup Veganaise, or your favorite mayonnaise
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
coarse salt to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon)
freshly ground black pepper to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon)
Stir everything together.
2.Katie Lee Joel’s Dark Chocolate Chunk and Dried Cherry Cookies(got this one out of goop)
YIELD: about 4 dozen cookies
2 1/4 cups unbleached, all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
2/3 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
8 ounces dark chocolate, coarsely chopped (be sure to use a high-quality chocolate with more than 60% cacao)
1 cup dried cherries (about 6 ounces), coarsely chopped
1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped (optional)
Preheat the oven to 375ºF.
Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together into a bowl.
In the bowl of an electric mixer (or in a bowl using a handmixer), beat the butter with the sugars until light and fluffy, about three minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until incorporated. Beat in the vanilla. On low speed, add the flour mixture. With a wooden spoon, fold in the chocolate, cherries and pecans (if you’re using them).
Scoop by the heaping tablespoonful onto two nonstick or greased cookie sheets. Bake until golden and chewy, about 12 minutes, rotating the sheets after six minutes. Transfer the cookies to a rack to cool and repeat the process with the remaining dough.
3.Curried Mussels
This is a rather difficult one and wouldn't recommend it unless you "know your shit" around the kitchen,if I may say so.I ate curried mussels for the first time in Bruxelles this year, and they are absolutely fabulouuuuuuuuuuuuuus!
1 cup dry white wine
1 cup heavy cream
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon minced shallot
1 stalk fresh lemongrass* (lower 6 inches only), outer leaves discarded and root ends trimmed, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 teaspoons curry powder
1 1/2 pounds Penn cove mussels - debearded
1 tablespoon thinly sliced scallion
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
In a 5- to 6-quart heavy kettle bring wine and cream to a boil with garlic, shallot, lemongrass, and curry powder. Add mussels and cook, covered, over moderately high heat 4 to 6 minutes, or until opened, discarding any unopened ones and lemongrass. Using a slotted spoon divide mussels among 4 bowls. Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less.
Add to liquid remaining in kettle; scallions, butter, and salt and pepper to taste, stirring until butter is incorporated, and spoon over mussels.
